Texas Hold 'Em Review
11 out of 15
While it doesn’t replace the table at Foxwoods, it still plays a good game of Poker.

I played multiple tournaments and when my mic was on, all I heard was cursing. I think I’m getting too old for the kids – because it was ridiculous. One can only wonder what these same people will do when they have a camera. We can only hope that Mommy won’t pay for that.

When you do get into an online game with non-cheesers, it can be a lot of fun. One tournament I was in with friends lasted a few hours and it was very intense. At the end I think we were both going all in to end the game, but it was still enjoyable. Unfortunately it doesn’t really help with your ranking because it’s not an official tournament. I understand why they don’t allow this, but there should be a way to eliminate the cheesers, even if you have a small dollar tournament.

Your bankroll carries with you – you have an online one and and offline one. While you can always get more money (Xbox Live sponsors you), it does add another element because it affects the leaderboards.

Overall I’m having fun with Texas Hold ‘Em. The Xbox Live audio makes it a much more fun game than say playing for free on your PC. The fact that you can view other players GamerCards can help decide whether they are worth playing against.

For $10, you can’t go wrong with Texas Hold ‘Em and looking at the Xbox Live most played games, I’m not the only one that thinks so. Give it a shot!

Sounds are ok – the sound of the chips going onto the table is nice, and the cards being dealt sounds similar to Casino on the 2600.
