Finally there’s also a season mode where you can start at any racing level you choose and go through a season. Personally I have the most fun here because the Fight To The Top is so lengthy. Some of the things in EA’s franchise modes are just outright silly such as the phone calls and the inbox. Very rarely is there any information there worthwhile. The voice mail messages are especially stupid.

There is ad-hoc play available for up to four players but you have to have 3 of your friends very close by and they all have to have a copy of the game. It’s a shame that there is no online play available for such a game that is so popular online via regular consoles.

The “My NASCAR” is a nice feature, allowing you to customize four cars for each division. The customization is somewhat limited, but still gives you enough options to have some fun with it.

Overall, I found NASCAR an enjoyable handheld game. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of its console counterpart, but if you need a portable NASCAR fix, this game will do.
