Elite Beat Agents Review
14 out of 15
Saving the world through the power of song, Elite Beat Agents is one of the more unique and fun games released for the DS.

The graphics of EBA look like they are straight out of a comic book. Even the instruction manual keeps the same theme, and it’s a nice touch. Like any rhythm game, it’s hard to focus on the graphic quality of the agents as you are trying to keep up with the beats.

The sound is great. The game recommends you crank the volume up or use headphones so that you can tap accurately to the beat. The song covers are decent, but you won’t mistake Material Girl for a Madonna song, for example. Some songs are more up tempo than the original so it’s tough to really compare one with the other. The covers do scream of Japanese karaoke, but it’s definitely acceptable.

There is wireless play via a single game pak or multiple game paks. There is no wifi (infrastructure) mode. There is a co-op mode available if you have multiple game paks. Multiplayer mode is a lot of fun if you can find someone with a second game pak.

If you enjoy this type of genre of games – music rhythm – there’s no doubt you’ll love Elite Beat Agents. Even if you’ve never played this type of game, it’s definitely worth checking out, as you could be pleasantly surprised.
