Burnout Dominator Review
12 out of 15
Dominator may not bring anything particularly new to the table but it's still a great addition to the series.

Under Rewards you’ll be able to see the awards you’ve earned, the trophies, your garage (all the cars you’ve unlocked) and all of the shortcuts you’ve opened. During your races you’ll be able to knock your opponents through obstacles, such as walls and barriers, which sometimes unlocks hidden passages to compete certain tracks.

Graphically the game is gorgeous with the backgrounds having great detail, you’ll be able to read highway signs, street signs, leaves on the trees change different colors depending on what season it is, and the physics of each road performs to its real life condition. The cars are not detailed enough, but the rest of the game more then makes up for this slight flaw.

The game takes some getting used to as far as playability, but once you get the hang of it, it’s easy to master. The sound is really nice with the soundtrack boasting around 36 songs, with some of the artists banging out notes like Avril Lavigne, and N.E.R.D.

One part of this game that did not make it, is the fan favorite Crash Mode where you have to drive into congested parts of traffic and cause car crashes, but that will surely be brought back for the next gen console versions of the next installment of Burnout.

This game doesn’t really bring anything new to the series, but it’s still a really fun racer, especially with a lot of friends. The tracks are nice, the music is rockin’, and the graphics show what the PS2 can do when it’s being utilized at peak performance. Crash mode should have been included, and loading times are a bit of a nuisance but other then that it’s a solid racer that will bring you hours of entertainment.
