Too bad there aren’t more multiplayer options. The lone split-screen mode possesses little allure. Even if they weren’t all that great, at least Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz offered them as consolation—as well as its monkeys. All that Kororinpa: Marble Mania presents are series of candy- and toy-themed levels. There’s nothing technically wrong with the visuals, but they certainly aren’t anything to gawk at. Watching a panda-skinned marble roll across a vanilla wafer to a tune that sounds like something from an episode of Barney can be a bit much. At least your kids will get a kick out its unique sense of style.
Putting the presentation aside, enjoying Kororinpa: Marble Mania is easy. The simple controls and straightforward gameplay make it possible for anyone to play. Unfortunately, the number of levels is too small for the game to have any lasting appeal and issues with the camera can be frustrating. Boosting the amount of content would have done much to improve the value of Kororinpa: Marble Mania. Nevertheless, you’ll find it to be the most fun you can have with marbles outside of throwing the little things at your younger brother.
