X-COM still to this day has a loyal following and in fact there is a host of mod files available that fixes a lot of what is wrong with the base game. The fan base deserves a bit more than this, though. X-COM needs a true remake—one that thrusts it back into the spotlight and makes it relative again. As fun as UFO is at times you can’t help but ask yourself – what’s the point? Haven’t we already played this game before? It’s one thing to ask for a clone of a 14 year old game – it’s another thing to actually get it.
