Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08 DS Review
12 out of 15
Maddeningly frustrating, but impossible to walk away from: just like real golf.

The game has a nice variety of multiplayer options built into it, including single cart download play for up to four players, and online play for 2 – 4 players over Nintendo’s WFC connection. If all you have is one DS between you and your friends, you can also have four people play on the same handheld.

There’s a fantastic amount of gameplay in Tiger Woods ’08 for the DS, and the most satisfying set of golf mechanics on the console to date. If you’re willing to spend the time practicing before tackling the Tiger Challenges, or can take some sedatives before going on a streak of five failed challenges in a row, you won’t find a more enjoyable golf game for the DS. Those looking for a simple pick up and play game of golf will find a lot to like as well, they’ll just progress more slowly. Sure, the pay to play model can be frustrating, but when you finally beat that challenge and take home that check, it’s a fantastic feeling; like draining that 30 footer as the sun sets on a 3-under round.
