Escape from Paradise City Review
6 out of 15
RTS + RPG = DOA

Multiplayer thankfully mitigates these flaws since computer-controlled enemies are now directed by another player. The same inane intelligence that governs your henchmen belongs to your opponents' as well; in short, the problem isn't fixed but balanced out instead. More motivation to play multiplayer matches over the unpolished single player campaign is hardly necessary. The same core gameplay found in the campaign is present in online matches without the lack of balance, the only significant difference being that you battle other players for control over neighborhoods instead of computer-controlled gangsters.

It's difficult to recommend Escape from Paradise City on the merits of its average multiplayer. Encouraging a play through the wholly unbalanced single player campaign is unwarranted, leaving little left to consider in this unfortunate package. The potential existed here for a good game, yet it's been squandered due to poor mission structure and downright bad cooperative intelligence. Forgo escaping from Paradise City, just save yourself the trouble and avoid it from the get go.
