Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress Review
8 out of 15
Blurring the line between sequel and retread

Finally, you can take Naruto on a walk down the Ninja Road, which shows a 2-D, side strolling Naruto as he walks down, well, a road. How far he can go depends on how many Ninja Points you've acquired. Get one hundred points and Naruto can walk another ten meters and then pick up some Naruto themed geegaw. Once you've walked all you can walk, you can head back to Naruto's house and check out your newly acquired stuff.

The various battle modes offer plenty of fighting; however so much of the game is lifted from the last Naruto: Ultimate Heroes game that the only real difference ends up being the story mode, which is the weakest part of the package. Paying full price for a sequel with such a small smattering of new content is a hard pill to swallow, even for the most die hard fan. Naruto: Ulitmate Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress does offer up plenty of fun, albeit shallow, ninja fighting, just not enough new content to warrant a purchase.
