Like the previous episodes, 8-Bit is Enough contains some mini-games. This time it’s Gel-Arshie’s Pro Fruitboarder, where you play a skateboarding cube of red gelatin. However, unlike past episodes, this mini-game is actually integral to the storyline and not just a fun diversion from the regular point-and-click features of the overall game. There’s also another cool mini game that unlocks when you reach Extended Play mode, but I won’t spoil it for you by mentioning what it is.
The puzzles in this episode are more difficult than those in Dangeresque 3, but in general are still easy enough for anyone to solve. Similarly, you’ll often have to hop around various map locations to solve them. Meanwhile, the Teen Girl Squad is completely absent from this episode (they had a cameo in the last episode). While I’ve complained about that in the past, in this case it’s okay since there’s already a lot of puzzles and mini-games to play. Their presence would add little to the episode.
Extended Play Mode is still fun, but not nearly as packed as it was in Dangeresque 3. There are some cool moments, like the extra mini-game and what happens when Strong Bad enters the Peasant’s Quest game. However, it’s more of just a way for you to finish collecting any secret items and Achievements.
Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People finished with a bang. The series started off well with Homestar Ruiner and found its pace with Strong Badia the Free. Although it dipped into a surprisingly disappointing low with Baddest of the Bands, the series redeemed itself with Dangeresque 3 and wrapped things up nicely with 8-Bit is Enough. If you haven’t bought the series yet, now is the time to do so. Consider it a post-Christmas present to yourself!
