It's hard to look at the Nintendo Wii as being a console that caters mostly to casual and younger gamers after playing MadWorld. Simply put, this is the bloodiest and most violent game I have ever played and I have done things to people in this game that are so depraved that it crosses over into utter lunacy.

I have shoved signposts into people's necks, then dumped them into a burning barrel, then taken said person filled barrel and thrown it onto a train track to be smashed by a speeding train. I have head butted men until they are stunned, slammed a giant fish onto them, cast them into a pool of bubbling oil and then served up their breaded, deep-fried corpse as Ninja tempura. I have taken soda bottles, shook them until they were ready to burst, shoved them down an alien's gullet and then sent the aliens flying off like a fizz powered rocket to be impaled on the spike of a billboard woman's giant breast. I have murdered countless men, women, midgets, aliens and zombies, laughing all the while.

Varrigan City has been beset by terrorists who have cut off all access to the city and sprayed the citizens with a biological agent that will kill them in short order. The only way to get an antidote is to kill another person. In this setting, the DeathWatch games have been opened, a modern day gladiatorial set of games that awards points for killing as many people as possible, or a select, stylishly executed few. Enter Jack, complete with gruff demeanor, a chainsaw attached to a prosthetic arm and a penchant for eating onions. Jack is more than happy to compete and as he progresses through Varrigan City's five boroughs we learn more about his ultimate intentions.

At its street sign impaled heart, the game is a beat 'em up. Once Jack enters an area, he has thirty minutes to score the requisite number of points needed to unlock the boss battle. Points are scored by killing; however the most points are scored by killing folks in incredibly violent ways. Simply punching a man to death or slicing them down the middle with your chainsaw may work for a quick, life saving kill, but if you rely on such pedestrian means of dispatching your enemies, you'll be in for a long haul. Thankfully each environment is designed to maximize your brutality. Between the environmental objects such as spiked walls (called Rose Bushes), dumpsters that slam closed to cleave an enemy in twain, fire barrels and electrical signs, and the various weapons and additional environmental hazards that unlock when certain scoring milestones are reached, there is no end to your killing options.
