Controlling your Transformer of choice is fairly easy once you get used to it, with face buttons handling your melee attacks and jumping whereas your triggers control transforming and firing. The key issue is that to transform you hold the right trigger in, and to return to robot form you simply let go. This actually works quite well on its own, but the problem is that to fire your weapons you hold in the left trigger to bring your selection weapon up and pull the right trigger to fire. Thus, there are times where you want to fire your weapon quickly, pulling both triggers at the same time only to have the imposing figure of your Transformer turn into a dump truck rather than bring its weapons to bear.
As a whole Revenge of the Fallen is a solid package. Though the melee combat is practically counterproductive and the odd accidental transforms will nag at you here and there ultimately the game delivers an entertaining go of things. The plot is only a loose interpretation of the movie, and with the games emphasis on completing your objectives quickly it thrives in its arcade style of play. In short, Revenge of the Fallen is a game that takes itself no more seriously than it needs to giving you the reins of a variety of massive robots and just letting you blow the sprockets out of anything foolish enough to get in your way.
