Chapter 1-2 (3 BSAA Emblems)

Post Execution

Inspect the area and head to the next objective to find your first assisted jump, which is a dead-end. You’ll find the proper ladder down the alley and to the left. While Sheva is busy up there, smash the crate in the eastern alley to find an Old Building Key, and then run back to help Sheva with her newfound friends. Wind your way through the doors and alleys west of the ladder. The upcoming building, by the Majini hiding in the boxes, can be accessed from behind the stairs. You will find an Antique Clock on the western balcony, and from the eastern balcony looking south, a BSAA Emblem across the street.

Rescue the Blonde

Don’t play hero just yet. Use the Old Building Key to get into the green building and grab the Ithaca M37 shotgun. Now head upstairs and see how cute the blonde really is as you meet your first Cephalo. Keep your distance and concentrate fire with your new shotgun on the base of the neck. Kill her to receive a valuable Ivory Relief. Then head through the opposite door and to the next objective.

Alpha Team and Maintenance Tunnels

Investigate the first body, climb the ladder, and immediately look skyward to see a water tower and the second BSAA Emblem. Before going through the door, jump left across the gap to find a large treasure chest. Go through the door, get the data, and head to the elevator. Up ahead is a t-junction and the lit door is locked. Follow the corridor south to get the Furnace Key from a corpse. Note the two cylinders of gas and the incinerator controls. Then head back to use the key.

Boss: Uroboros

Don’t try to fight Uroboros. Retreat all the way back and knock over one of the cylinders. Save the other for backup. Uroboros will absorb the cylinder, but don’t shoot it yet. Ideally, you want the creature to follow you clockwise around the room so that you can lure it into the incinerator and get to the controls quickly. Pull the lever as soon as Uroboros begins to cross the first threshold, strafe a few steps in front of the second door, and prepare to shoot the gas cylinder. This will stall Uroboros long enough for the incinerator doors to fully close.

After defeating Uroboros and using the Furnace Key, do not get on the elevator yet. A few steps away is a grated wall, through which you can see a BSAA Emblem.

Chapter 2-1 (5 BSAA Emblems)

Garage and Shipping Yard

In the garage you will find an H&K MP5 straight ahead, a BSAA Emblem above and to the right of the bay door, and from the back of the garage, a ladder leading up to the shipping crates and treasure. The shipping yard outside is a short and easily navigable maze, but it holds four new elements. Explosive tripwires are strung up and can be defused by shooting the wire or the explosive. Majini now have ranged weaponry, but are quite slow to aim. Adjule (dogs) will be your biggest problem. Keep firing and don’t stop or they will surround you. Last is the Big Man Majini. He can take a beating and give a better one, but he is slow and always drops a Jeweled Bangle.

Bridge and Sewers

A truck will careen through as soon as you leap the gap. You can go for an Achievement and try to shoot the driver, but the easy way is to shoot one of the explosive barrels. Head across after dealing with the leftovers, but stop on the stairs and look under the bridge for a BSAA Emblem. Upon entering the sewers, steady yourself for an onslaught of Adjule, followed by an area with four-seemingly dead Majini. You know it’s a trap, right? Kipepeo, which fly but are easily killed, will rise from the corpses. On the bright side, there is a piece of Sapphire at the other end.

Docks

First, head into the water and check the perimeter for undersea treasure. As you step from the beach to the market, look inside the green hut on your right to see a BSAA Emblem near the ceiling. You obviously want to get inside the locked building to the north, but you can control the flow of an ensuing battle by entering through the window in back. Afterwards, use the Port Key, cross the boat, and check the water on the other side for more treasure. When you get back on land, climb the ladder straight ahead and look off the northern edge (by the water tower) to see a BSAA Emblem in the building across the street. After that, head immediately east and through the red doors (not the objective) to find the S75.

Apartments

Stop at the assisted jump when you reach the top, spin 180-degrees, and look up to find a BSAA Emblem. Protect Sheva with your rifle and explosive barrels after the jump, but save the ground-floor barrels for later. Before you head up the eastern stairs, shoot the electrical transformer from the pole, which acts as a reusable grenade of electricity when you shoot it. You’re about to face a Chainsaw Majini with the key to the next door. Now you can use the explosive barrels. Move in for a melee attack when you see the Chainsaw Majini buckle over.

Chapter 2-2 (3 emblems)

Train Yard

As soon as you enter the train yard, get ready to run and take care of two tripwires. Do not play around with the Adjule. Hightail it to the stack of lumber on your left, after the second tripwire, and climb atop the trains. There is a BSAA Emblem near the top of an electrical tower far to the west. Cross the trains over to the platform, but don’t be hasty in jumping down, as you will fall into a mine cart and the track ahead is rigged with two more tripwires. Take out the first one from the platform above, drop, and immediately line up for a second.

The Mineshafts

The lantern can not be used in conjunction with other weapons, so make sure that Sheva carries it. There are numerous Majini and Cephalo in the caves beyond. You will want to move slowly while avoiding quickturns and melee attacks to ensure that Sheva can keep your targets lit at all times. At the waterfall, there is a gem above the next entrance and a BSAA Emblem in the rocks of the waterfall to your right. When you reach the crank, turn it yourself. Sheva has ‘difficulties’ protecting herself while waiting for you to turn the next one. From there, it’s a straightforward battle to the top and into another cave.

The Quarry

Immediately grab the Dragunov SVD from the locker in Irving’s Office. Take a few moments to clear out the Majini on the gatling gun as well as his inevitable replacement before you head outside and start fighting your way through the quarry. Climb an exceptionally tall ladder (notice the treasure stuck in the rock) and turn towards Irving’s office to see a BSAA Emblem on the roof of an adjacent building. The next bit of treasure is in the cliff-face just above an upcoming assisted jump. Keep an eye out for Majini with dynamite as you fight your way up, and try to shoot the dynamite for a nasty explosion.

Boss: Popokarimu

Most of the barrels and shacks contain proximity bombs that you will need to expose Popokarimu’s soft underbelly. Lay one down and run forward in order to lure the creature over it. The bomb’s hit detection is finicky at times, so this may take a few attempts. Once it goes off, sprint in and blast away at the meat under the tail. Popokarimu has a few flying attacks, tail-strikes, and a sticky goo that he sprays, but you won’t see any of them as long as you stay mobile and only attack after the proximity bombs have gone off.

Chapter 2-3 (0 BSAA Emblems)

The Chase

This section has three points to keep in mind: 1) The turret-mounted gun can overheat, so fire in short and controlled bursts, 2) shoot the gas tanks of motorcycles to take out multiple opponents at once, and 3) refrain from blowing up vehicles directly next to you as they will cause damage.

Boss: Ndesu

All of Ndesu’s attacks, such as punches and foot-stomps, can be thwarted with direct hits from the machine guns, so again, fire in short bursts to ensure that you don’t get stuck waiting for the cooldown. Other than that, keep your aim on the creatures sprouting from his soldiers. Two Majini will appear on the right, in the building, so dispose of them quickly.

Chapter 3-1 (4 BSAA Emblems)

For this section, I will designate the main sections on the map with the numbers 1-7. Moving clockwise around the perimeter of the marshland, 1 is the starting point, 6 is the final area, and 7 is the island.

1

The Beast Slate is directly in front of you on the island along with a Ruby in a skull. From the dock, use your rifle to look far to the northwest for an electrical pole and a BSAA Emblem. Unfortunately, this is the easiest spot to hit the Emblem from.

2

Spiral your way through the fortifications and toward the dock. It’s quiet, but not for long. Majini Villagers hit much harder and are far more resilient than their city brethren, so make good use of headshots and knee-shot/melee combos. You’ll find one chest with an Idol and another with the Warrior Slate.

4

#3 is where you bring the plates, so leave it for now. There is a wrecked ship on the way to #4 where you can pick up a Rocket Launcher and a Beetle (treasure). At the village, there is a BSAA Emblem under the roof of the first tent, a Beetle in the water, and a Chalice in the chest, but no slate.

5

Take your time moving toward the back of the village while grabbing supplies from pots and treasure from the skulls. The left assisted jump yields a treasure chest and the right holds the Shaman Slate. Once you get both, I suggest running. You’ll need every bullet you can spare for upcoming battles.

6

I hope you like crocodiles. Stop before entering the watery entrance. The tree on the far left holds a Beetle and the first post on the right, beneath the rear hut, holds a Ruby. Keep sprinting and maintain a wide berth around the crocodiles, as they kill on contact. Once up top, look in the first window and toward the ceiling to check out the welcoming committee. Kill them and move on to grab the Raptor Slate.

7

There is a BSAA Emblem under the hut, although it is difficult to see unless you stand in the water by the villager’s boat. The rocky pillar next to that spot also holds a Beetle. Finally grab the Chalice from the hut and some health-replenishing chicken eggs. You may even find the Golden Egg.

3 and the Main Village

Insert the Slates and head through the door. Beneath the first walkway is a BSAA Emblem that can be shot from the water. The village ahead is why you saved your bullets earlier. Steer clear of the corpse and holes to the north and stock up on supplies first. The shiny item by the corpse is a S&W M29, and the bait for a trap. Grab the magnum, but don’t equip it yet. Focus on the regular Majini and save the Giant Majini for last. As a Giant approaches, use the magnum to shoot below the belt, move in for a melee attack, and repeat until death. You also have the rocket launcher in case the situation gets out of control. Once the area has been cleared, move along the small path the northeast and put Sheva to work on the crank. After reuniting, feel free to explore the hut, and check out the cave on the second floor for a Ceremonial Mask before moving on.

Chapter 3-2 (2 BSAA Emblems)

Village Fortification

This section is a breeze if you saved some rifle ammo. If not, make quick work of the bow-men and their explosive arrows first. Once on the raft, there will be a series of dodges involving the crocodile. The button sequence is always LT+RT. Once in the cave, shoot out the skull-lanterns for treasure.

Camp

Go behind the Tricell tents and look between them for a BSAA Emblem. The snakes around here are a good source of Egg Whites. Before opening the gates to the factory, look over your right shoulder and in the cliff for a treasure.

Factory and the Docks

Three cranks will deactivate the flames, but some hold a few surprises. Crank #1 is at the top of the center platform. For crank #2, climb the northwest tower, call the zip-line, and ride it down. A Chainsaw Manjini will appear at the main gate (from which you entered) as soon as the crank is turned. For crank #3, climb the southeastern tower and use the zip-line. Another Chainsaw Majini will drop down on the other side of the door as soon as you unlock it. When you finally meet up with Josh, don’t worry about anything other than keeping the Majini off of him. On the second floor, one of the barrels holds a proximity bomb. Set it near Josh while he works on the console, as protection against the incoming Chainsaw Majini. Once the door is unlocked, you can break for it or try to kill the Chainsaw Majini for a Gold Ring. At the docks, follow the objective indicator. After Irving escapes, there will be a suitcase of gold on the dock, and a BSAA Emblem on the inner-wall of the first cabin.

Chapter 3-3 (1 BSAA Emblem)

On the River

This is a couple of shooting sequences mixed with standard firefights. The main thing to remember in this section is that Molotovs and big red objects like to explode when shot. When Josh complains that the gate is closing, you’ll have a chance to get off the boat and shoot a BSAA Emblem. It is stuck to underside of the archway in the gate behind you. At the second gate, move quickly to find cover from the gatling guns and take them out before attempting to operate the levers.

Boss: Irving

Forget about traditional firepower. The grenade launchers are near the bow and the gatling guns are at the stern. Initially, Irving’s weak point is a dome on his head that is only visible while he is swimming in the distance. He will dip down and 2-4 tentacles will rise near the ship. Aim for the yellow weak spots while being prepared to dodge at all times. He is most dangerous when underwater, preparing to attack. One tentacle quickly rising near the ship indicates a direct strike that can be dodged. When multiple tentacles pour over the side of the boat, they will remain motionless for a moment before thrusting forward one at a time. Keep an eye on them and strafe out of the way. Once Irving grabs the back of the boat, hop on a gatling gun and let him have it.
