2. Any of the 75 level achievements in Final Fantasy XI

“Level up the *insert job here* job to its maximum level.”

Conservative estimates put obtaining just one of these achievements at between four and six months of gaming, provided you can put eight hours in a day and that you don’t have to spend a lot of time getting a party organized. That’s half a year, for one achievement and, on top of it you have to pay 13 bucks a month to keep playing. Other achievements on this list may take hundreds of hours to complete, but the time commitment plus the joy of having to pay for the privilege of not having a life outside of the game makes these achievements extra special indeed. It is inconceivable that any person would ever get a full thousand points in this game as the servers will either be shut off before that happens, or our sun will explode, reducing this world to a cinder.

1. “Guitar Hero” - Guitar Hero 3

“Earn 5 stars on all songs on the Expert difficulty.”

There are some achievements on this list that require skill, there are some that require time, but this achievement requires both, and even with all the time in the world, completing this task is beyond what most mortals can hope to achieve. Simply completing every song in Guitar Hero 3 on Expert is hard enough, but 5-starring them all is an act that can best be described as Rock Godly. You can’t boost and you can’t cheat. All you can do is put in the time to practice, get good enough and rock the heck out. Achievement unlocked.

So there you have it -- our list of the ten toughest 360 Achievements. Did we miss anything? Are you a gaming legend and think these are too easy? Let us know!
