Take Two has confirmed today that there will indeed be a Bioshock 2 and that it will be developed by the recently formed studio 2K Marin. The previous development studios of the first Bioshock, 2K Boston which houses creative director Ken Levine, is said to be involved in the project, so have no worries that it may not live up to its predecessor .

The game is expected to be released for the Xbox 360 and PC platforms and is to be ready to rock and roll by the end of 2k’s fiscal 2009 year, which ends October 31st 2009. Although there was no confirmation previously, a sequel to the underwater thriller was a no-brainer and rumors have floated around for quite sometime that the next game in the series would be a prequel to the first.
