It seems that Lost Planet: Colonies that we reported about last month, will not be an entirely new game based on the Lost Planet Franchise. Famitsu and Xbox360 Fanboy have confirmed that Lost Planet: Colonies is nothing more than a remade version of the original Lost Planet: Extreme Condition with a couple of cool – no pun intended – features thrown in.

Here’s a quick run down of what is expected in the re-released version:

  • New Multiplayer modes, including Humans VS Akrid
  • 4 New maps, 2 of which are possibly a city and a desert
  • New Female Playable Character
  • Ten New weapons
  • New Monsters
  • Trial Battle and Score Attack modes for the campaign bosses
  • 360/PC Cross-platform play
Having enjoyed the original outing of the game, I wouldn’t mind giving the redux version of it a go as well when it is finally released. Expect more details on this soon!
