If you wondering when the price drop of the 360 that was announced for Japan this week would happen over on this side of the world, wonder no longer. Major Nelson has updated his blog with the word that the price drop for the Xbox 360 is official and it's coming real soon.

The new prices are:

  • Xbox 360 Arcade: $199
  • Xbox 360: $299
  • Xbox 360 Elite: $399
  • As of this Friday, September 5th, those who have been sitting on the fence about picking one up have no excuse not to be running out and grabbing one up. Now let's just hope Sony decides to follow Microsoft's lead in the near future.
