In what will become The Serious Sam Indie Series, Croteam is letting three indie developers put their own spins on the gun-toting hero. The games will be released in the coming months leading up to the summer release of Serious Sam 3.

Mommy's Best Games, best known for Explosionade and Shoot 1-Up, is giving Serious Sam: Double D the sidescrolling treatment with hand-drawn artwork and an undisclosed weapon-stacking system.

Vlambeer, of Super Crate Box, is taking Serious Sam: The Random Encounter in the completely opposite direction with a turn-based strategy game.

Finally, Be-Rad Entertainment of Lame Castle, is hitting the mobile scene with Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack!
