Del Rey, a division of Random House Publishing Group, announced the second novel based on the Hitman video game series from Io Interactive. Titled Hitman: Damnation, the book is being written by author Raymond Benson and will be released in North America this summer. The book will also be available in many other countries around the world, though specific regions outside the U.S. were not revealed at press time.

Taking place between games Hitman: Blood Money and the upcoming Hitman: Absolution, Damnation follows Agent 47 as he attempts to complete his toughest assignment yet: assassinating high-level American political figures

The next game in the series, Hitman Absolution, is set for release in 2012.
