Street Fighter IV Preview
The patriarch fighting series returns with classic characters and a fresh new look.
Date: Friday, January 23, 2009
Author: Tony Mitera

Fans can rest a little bit easier, knowing that while the graphics may be 3D the core gameplay is still as 2D as ever and maintains the same level of tight controls and fighting that has been a series hallmark. The graphics are beautiful, from the furrowed brows of the fighters down to how a truck in the background with its lights on casts a glow on those nearby. More important than how good it looks, the fighting is intense yet familiar, and just as much care appears to have been put into balance and playability as any other entry into the series. Even with a massive facelift and a few tweaks, the heart of Street Fighter seems to be in the right place.
