South Park Let’s Go Tower Defense Play! Preview
Admit it -- you always knew South Park would make for an ideal tower defense game.

Unlike some multiplayer games that force you to sit out the rest of the level when you die, here one of your teammates can resurrect you and bring you back to the action. If there are less than four people playing and you die, you just take control of one of the remaining kids – in my case, Kenny. Each character has a special attack that powers up after hitting a certain number of targets. For example, Kenny’s is leeching more money (coins with Terrance and Philip’s faces on it) from enemies while Cartman’s is a powerful temper tantrum that destroys all enemies within a certain radius.

The game has the strong backing of its creators. The graphics are spot on as the characters look like they’ve jumped out of your TV. The voices are provided by none other than Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and we’re not talking about canned recordings from the show. There are unlockable video clips from episodes of South Park for every character, including the enemies. For example, Cartman’s is a scene from “Chickenlover” i.e. “Respect mah authoritah!”

South Park Let’s Go Tower Defense Play! looks like it’s going to be a fun game that adds its own spice to the tower defense genre. Tower defense aficionados will get their fix, while South Park fans will appreciate all the little in-jokes and references to the show. We’ll find out soon – as the game drops on Xbox Live October 7th.
