Graphics and sound are both done in a whimsical manner well suited for this type of game. The visuals are bright and cartoonish with a lot of attention to detail for each of the themed courts. It would have been nice if there was some level of interactivity to be found within the courts themselves but unfortunately they are strictly look but don’t touch. Frame rates do take a hit from time to time especially when playing doubles. The game sports quite a few music tracks, the bulk of them must first be unlocked in superstars mode. Each character also has their own signature chatter during matches which tends to become a bit repetitive.

SEGA Superstars Tennis definitely leans more towards SEGA fans than tennis fans. Plenty of fun can be found within the creative mix of tennis infused minigames and the unlockable items help fuel the urge to keep playing them—especially for the younger crowd. Unfortunately, for adults, the core tennis game doesn’t present any real challenge. This is one best purchased for the kids.
