Area 51 Walthrough
A little help navigating the clandestine operations of the US Government facility..

Lies of the Past:

Enter the next room and make your way to the control panel on the far side. Press the switch to unlock the door on the far left and some soldiers will come through. Take them out and follow the hallway around to the lab. Kill the soldiers and scientist in here and grab the BBG alien rifle from the container. Head up the stairs and make a left and follow the hallway around to a large room with a large pillar and electricity running through it. Make your way down the catwalk all the way to the bottom and enter the control room there. Operate the panel and you will be told to eliminate the source of the interference. Head back out and the electrical pillar will have four places on it to shoot to destroy it. Three will be seen from the catwalk. For the fourth, you will need to get all the way to the top and use the control panel there to lower a ladder in the far right corner. When the ladder comes down, climb up and blast the fourth transmission jammer.



Now that all four are toast, you can head all the way back down to the comm room and talk to Bridges again. When you are done having a chat with him, kill the attacking soldiers. Head back out of the room and start your way down the catwalk. Kill the few enemies at the bottom and head through the door. Have another chat with Edgar and enter the next room. Kill the group of enemies here and make your way around the corner at the far end. Jump in the elevator and take it for a ride up to the moon. Walk over to the crane in the middle and you will be told that you need two batteries to operate it. One will be by the moon buggy and one will be by the forklift. Grab both and place it on the platform behind the crane and then head over to the lever by the storage room. Pull it and it will extend. Head up it and then jump to the left and walk along to the left until you are over the catwalk. Hop down and go through the door that the soldiers run through. Make your way through the room and a short scene will play. After it is over, head down the corridor to take out the soldiers there and enter the lift on the right.

Buried Secrets:

As you step off the lift, make your way forward to the cavern opening and pop the mutant that crawls out of the hole on the left. When he’s down, continue down the tunnel and pop the bubbles that come towards you. When they are dad, keep going till the end and a scene will show you the next area that has two turrets at the far right. Enter the area and lure the dark soldiers to you and take them out. When they are all dead, run up to the turrets and stand under them. Blast them a few times with the shotgun and they will deactivate. Now head back to the platform across from where you entered and hop on top of the boxes and jump to the left towards the flame that is shooting upwards. When the flame dies down, hop on the pipe and walk across the next pipe around to the end and drop off. Now jump from the right side of the second pipe that is spouting flames and jump to the bridge that is slightly above you.



When you land on it, walk to the far right and scan the alien metal there. Head back to the left and jump down over the fence and operate the gate switch. Now some mutants will attack. Kill them and climb the slanted fence and follow around to the now open gate between the turrets. Head across the bridge and head through the tunnel until you reach the end. Kill the dark soldiers there and make your way left. Now there will be a few more on the ground, as well as in sniping posts around the walls. Take them all out and make a left around the corner to find a structure as well as another sniper. Pop them all and head back to the edge of the cliff on the right. Climb down the ladder there and walk to the corner and hop off to the right through the broken railing. Walk along the pipes there crouching and you will come to a ramp. Head up and then up the ladder and pop the dark ops that run up to the opening. When they are dead, hit the switch and the doors will open. Head out and through the next door across from you and follow the tunnel to the end.

Now Boarding:

Continue along the tunnel and you will eventually come to a set of metal doors. A scientist inside a chamber there will open a door for you to let you pass. Now you just need to clear out the next few areas of enemies that you come across. Make your way to a bridge and snipe the enemies on the far side. Head across and you will come to another large room. In the center will be two large turrets to deal with. Head up the left side of the cavern and you will be able to shoot the dark ops that are manning the turrets without them shooting you. Kill them and the few other dark ops in the room and you will be free to move without danger. Scan the laptop on the left side of the room and then head for the control room on the right.



Scan the disks there and then operate the switch which will extend the bridge. Head across it and pop the soldier there and then you will be told to go and get the scientist. Once you get back to him, talk to him and then he will follow you. Take him back across the bridge to the door and he will start to hack the panel. When he does that, you will need to go up either the ramp on the left or right and man the turret up there and defend the doc as he works. Blast away and the dark ops will try to extend the bridge and then head across. Keep the killed and eventually you will be told that he has the door hacked. Head back down and talk to the doc and he will let you through the door. When you enter the next corridor, grab the dynamite from the right sided and make your way down the hall.



Place the dynamite in the nook on the left side and stand back from it. Give it a shot and follow the new tunnel around. Kill the mutants there and enter the large room. Now time for a boss battle. Once you kill the few mutants on the ground, Theta will appear. Theta is actually pretty damn easy to beat as long as you keep moving. Don’t let him get near you since one swipe can kill you. Use your mutant powers to attack him with parasite to really damage him and then use the BBG the rest of the time. Kill the mutants he brings forward quickly and make sure you keep an eye on where Theta is at all times. After being hit more than few times, he will drop like a sack of rocks and you will finally meet Edgar.

The Grays:

Hop off the train car and go through the door ahead of you. Operate the panel there and the door to the left will unlock. Grab some goods from the room and then head through the door that was on the right. As you enter, turrets will appear on the wall. Stay in the doorway and take out the turrets with a few shots from the BBG. After they are down, head through the next door and make a right. Kill the dark ops here and use the panel on the far right to activate the lifter and the panel at the far wall of the room to activate the dispenser and get another document to scan. Head through the next door and you will see some grays on the left. Continue down the corridor and enter the door there. When you enter the room, there will be some gray’s that will teleport out.



Destroy the 4 turrets on the far wall and the two doors in the room will open. The door on the top floor leads to a scan item and some ammo. Head there and then head through the door on the ground. Hop in the lift and press the switch and you will rise to a room with a lone gray. He will be behind a shield and will summon in dark ops soldiers. Use the SMP to take down the shield the quickest and then blast the gray. Once he is toast, clean up the rest of the enemies and go through the door behind where the gray was. When you reach the next room, there will be three panels to activate. When you activate each one, a container of those damn bubbles will open and release them. Kill them all as you stay far away from them. After you have beaten all three canisters of bubbles, the door at the far end will open for you to go through. Head up the ramp and head through the door.

Descent:

Hop off the train car again and make your way around the catwalk. Enter the door you come to and clear the room out of enemies. Make your way to the left and follow the corridor to another lift. Ride it down and follow the walkway until you see a gray out on a platform. Quickly destroy his shield and take him down before he can summon too many soldiers. Once it is destroyed, take the next lift and you will come up to another control switch. Operate it and a bridge will extend. Run across and when you get about half way, dark ops will appear and retract the bridge. Run back to the platform and snipe the enemies on the far side. Once they are down, extend the bridge again and head across. When you get to the far side, more enemies will run across, so hit the switch and retract the bridge. Operate the lift again and now you will head down to another walkway. This time there will be two gray’s that show up and summon in enemies. Again try to tak them out as quickly as possible and watch you health. Use your mutation when you get low to help get some life back. Once they are all dead, head through the door at the end.

The Ascension:

Now it’s time to blow stuff up and make some noise. Grab the goods in the room and then make your way down the ramp on the right. Make a quick left and you will see the first generator there. Give it a couple shots to blow it up and then head back up the ramp. Make your way through the room and down the next ramp. Kill the enemies there and make a left through the door. Kill the few enemies there and continue through the room to the next door. Head up the ramp and there will be a load of soldiers there waiting for you. Take them out skillfully and continue to the far end of the room and go down the ramp under the large beast in the tube.



Enter the room there and use the panel on the left to open the door on the right. Go through and kill the few soldiers there and destroy the second generator. Once it’s toast, head back out to the large room where the beast was and a scene will play. Now you get to face off against a bigger and badder Theta. Use the same techniques to take down this ogre as you did the first one. This time instead of having mutants to deal with, Theta will jump up and smash open glass tubes in the room and release those damn bubbles. Make sure you stay far away from them and Theta and keep blasting away. Use the mutant powers to get life when you need it and continue to hammer the beast until he finally drops.

The Last Exit:

Hop of the cart when it makes it stop and take out the two dark ops in front of you. When they are down, more will rush in to die. Once they are all taken care of, enter the room and make a right and head down the hallway. Enter the next room and take out the two turrets on each side of the door. When they are down, go through the door and take out the dark ops there. Continue through the curved corridor to the lift at the end. Turn around and you will be at the core. Now you need to find a way to extend the bridge and get over there. Hop on the cart and it will take you to the next platform. Hop off and jump in the doorway. When it finishes spinning, go through the door ahead of you and enter the large room. Fight your way through it and destroy the two turrets at the far end. When they are down, hop on the lift and it will take you up to a walkway.



Head across and wipe out all the enemies there and make your way to the room at the end. Make a right and clear out this room as well and you will come outside. Press the switch to extend the bridge below and head back inside. Now you need to make your way back through the same way you came. When you reach the bottom floor, you will be in for one hell of a fight. Now you will be facing off against a Gray behind a shield that is also above a turret. Take him out as best you can, using the pillar in the corner for cover. Once they are all wiped out, head through the door and head across the bridge. There will be a few dark ops there waiting but nothing heavy. Kill them and enter the core. Once you are inside, you will see the core and it will be surrounded by a few ruby shields.



You will need to use these for cover as you blast away at the core. First you will need to shoot the green light panels on the side until they crack and flames burst out. Once you have all of them, the core will tilt and you will need to destroy the two turrets on the side. Again, use the shields and fire away as the turrets come past. Once you have both destroyed, you will have a very limited time to get out of dodge. Run through the door and back across the bridge. Use the parasite power to take down the enemies there quickly and keep moving. Enter the door way and run straight forward towards the gray alien at the teleporter. Head for large circle that has an image of the desert in it and jump through to start the ending scenes.
