Virtual NCAA Battle
2nd Annual Pontiac Virtual NCAA Final 4 results revealed.
Date: Friday, April 06, 2007
Author: James Fudge

Pontiac and 2K Sports teamed up again this year for the 2nd Annual Pontiac Virtual NCAA Final 4, a virtual videogame tournament that allowed basketball fans to experience college basketball firsthand through head-to-head competition via College Hoops 2K7, exclusively available for Xbox Live. Contestants played every match-up of the actual NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament before they happened, predicting actual tournament outcomes with 70 percent accuracy. Even more impressive, the Pontiac Virtual NCAA Final 4 successfully predicted 72 percent of the real-world tournament upsets and the 2007 champions, the Florida Gators.

In this year’s tournament, over six thousand players registered to compete in College Hoops 2K7 for Xbox and Xbox 360. Four finalists were chosen to compete live at the Pontiac Virtual NCAA Final 4 tournament in Atlanta on March 31, where the first place winner took home a 2007 Pontiac G5 GT, all courtesy of Pontiac.
