E3 R.I.P.
Mock funeral planned by Gamecock after the show's close this evening.
Date: Friday, July 13, 2007
Author: James Fudge

It's almost fitting that one of our last news story about E3 should be about the mock funeral of an annual event that so many - from publishers to the media - believe has lost its heart, soul and purpose. One such publisher is Gamecock and they are doing something to put an exclamation point on their opinion..

Today outside the goings on of the E3 Business & Media Summit in Sanata Monica, renegade publisher Gamecock, will hold a funeral for the E3 event. Gamecock will present an E3 Funeral and Wake (celebration) of Originality at 4:20pm. Those at the event can meet Gamecock at 4:20 at the EIEIO World Headquarters Hotel California (1670 Ocean Ave, Santa Monica). The marching procession will begin shortly thereafter. The ceremony itself will take place on the pier on the beach, just in front of the cafe to be followed by an unofficial afterparty at the waterfront cafe those parched from the funeral that are 21 or older. We suspect that Gamecok will make available photos of this event available sometime later today.
