After the success of such realistic military squad based tactical shooters such as Full Spectrum Warrior, U.K. based publishers Digital Jesters, have taken the genre and game play to the next level with the exhilarating action and astounding graphics found in their latest game, Dog Tag. As the leader of an elite special ops force, you and your squad have been sent in to find out what has happened to the battalion of soldiers that has gone missing for weeks from their assignment to replace a retreating rebel faction. As your squad arrives at their last location, it becomes clear that your one time allies have turned sides and have decided to take a piece of the illegal actions they were sent to stop.

Now you and your squad of trained soldiers have a moral dilemma on your hands. Do you fight your one time friends and bring them to justice for their actions? Can you take them down if push comes to shove? Unlike most conflicts between good and bad, this time the lines of good and bad are blurred and your once allies, who all have the same skills, training and weapon knowledge that you and your squad possess are the targets. Dog Tag is an Intense urban combat military campaign set in an ultra-realistic modern day city that features a unique cover based gameplay. This allows you and your squad to use every aspect of the environment for defensive and offensive maneuvers while keeping out of line of fire from the enemies. You can also use blind-fire tactics to pop around corners, fire over your head and objects to destroy the enemy forces with out having to fight in the open and risking your hide.

As leader of your special forces squad, you have full command over your team mates movements. You can issue orders to cover, suppress, move positions or just follow your actions as you progress further through your mission. Unlike having to fight poorly equipped rebels or guerilla soldiers, you are fighting against marines that have all the latest military hardware, weapons and vehicles to rival your own advanced weaponry. Although the game is still in the early stages of development, the proprietary game engine has full environmental and player collision physics, dynamic shadowing and global illumination light mapping to make it one distinguished looking game. Be sure to look for more updates in the future on the progress of Dog Tag, scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2006 in both PC and the Xbox 360 flavors.
