The audio is surprisingly good. Free’s “All Right Now” is the main song, which makes me wonder: is Free that desperate or did THQ blow the budget on this song at the expense of the game. There are in-game radio stations a la Grand Theft Auto, but I doubt you’ll mistake the two games.
There’s no multiplayer to speak of and the options are surprisingly sparse. One could argue that at a $19.99 price point, game purchasers aren’t going to expect much anyway. That being said, there is no excuse for the lack of even a split screen truck race. It was very disappointing to see no multiplayer in this game.
Overall BMT 2 is a disappointment. It is quite simply more of the same. If you liked the original PS2 game, there’s nothing really new here that requires a purchase. If you’re new to the game, it’s not really a recommended buy either unless you really enjoy very bad redneck humor (by bad I mean just plain stupid) and like doing the same thing over and over again. The good news is that it’s over quick and there’s no replay value whatsoever, so there’s that. Do yourself a favor and spend the $19.99 on a Platinum Title instead. You’ll have more fun.
